using ipads for instruction
With iPads fully integrated in the classroom, our students will have access to academics on their level. A typical day in literacy would look as follows:
- Work Word will be completed on the iPad. Students would use the Spelling City app to practice their spelling patterns for that week.
- Independent reading will be tailored to students' levels. They will have access to downloading books on their level and interest through Reading AZ.
- Students will be able to respond to literature collaboratively on websites such as Padlet. Rather than have Post Its collected in a notebook, they can keep track of their Post Its in Sticky instead. Students can use apps such as Gloss to respond to literature and science topics in graphic organizers.
- In writing, students will have access to devices to complete research for PBL papers, persuasive essays and more. Students can complete graphic organizers to plan their writing.
